This is a project currently underway in Tsuruoka City, Yamagata Prefecture.
土地区画整理事業の中で整備される、公園及び公園内施設の設計を手がけました。
2016年から足掛け6年にわたり携わっています。より詳しいプロジェクトの経緯はブログで紹介しています。
We have been involved in the design of parks and park facilities within the land readjustment project, spanning approximately six years since 2016. More details about the project’s history are available on our blog.

下のパースが公園２です。The perspective below is of Park 2.

公園2は、奥の箱型の商業施設と駐車場を含めた敷地の中で、約5000㎡の公園をどこに配置するかという、マスタープランから検討を行いました。
For Park 2, we conducted planning from the master plan stage to determine how to position the approximately 5000 square meters park within the site, which also includes the box-shaped commercial facility and parking in the back.
この二つの楕円形の緑の丘のモチーフは鶴岡の特産品の「だだちゃ豆」。ちょっと「ベタ」ですが（笑）
The motif of these two elliptical green hills is the local specialty of Tsuruoka, “Dadacha beans.” It may be a bit “cliché,” but (laughs).
直喩的なイメージの後先はともかく、幾何学的に整理しながら二つのみどりの丘を検討しているうちに、単純な造形の中にも面白みがあり、場所に呼応しながらさまざまな活動を生み出す原動力をもつ案として、人々に長く親しまれる可能性をもっていると思うようになりました。
While considering two green hills with a geometric arrangement, I found that within their simple forms, there was an inherent charm. These hills have the potential to generate various activities while harmonizing with the surroundings, making them a proposal with the power to be loved by people for a long time.
いくつかあった案の中で、はじめはあまり「推し」はでなかったものが、いろいろな事情が重なって採用案となりました。もちろん、結果としてはこれでよかったと思います。
Among several options, the one that didn’t initially stand out became the chosen design due to various factors. Of course, in hindsight, I believe this was the right choice.
「だだちゃ豆」は鶴岡に伝統的に伝わる枝豆の一種で、独特の甘みと濃厚な旨味があるのが特徴で、全国的にも有名です。
“Dadacha beans” are a variety of edamame traditionally grown in Tsuruoka. They are known for their unique sweetness and rich umami flavor, and they are famous nationwide.

みどりの丘を観客席、ウォールの前をステージにしてイベント（コンサート）を行っている様子。奥に見えるのは月山です。丘の上にのぼれば、近隣の住宅の屋根をかわして、周囲の山々も眺めやることができます。
An event (concert) is taking place with the green hill serving as the audience seating and the space in front of the wall as the stage. In the background, you can see Mount Gassan. If you climb to the top of the hill, you can enjoy the surrounding mountain views, bypassing the roofs of nearby homes.
冬はそり遊びもできます。
In the winter, sledding can also be enjoyed.
こちらは鳥海山の方を向いたアングルです。6台分の駐車スペース（うち車いす用2台）があります。右端に見えるのは公衆トイレです。

以下のパースが公園1です。公園1は周囲が住宅地や福祉施設などに囲まれている土地で、公園２から歩いて２~3分ほどの距離です。こちらの方が小規模な公園となっています。
The perspective below is of Park 1. Park 1 is located in a land area surrounded by residential areas, welfare facilities, and more. It is approximately a 2-3 minute walk from Park 2 and is of a smaller scale.
公園１の全景。こちらは、公園2とあえて位相を反転させて、楕円形のくぼみをつくっています。公園1と2は、「陰」と「陽」、一対のものとして計画しています。
Panoramic view of Park 1. Here, the design has intentionally inverted the phase compared to Park 2, creating an elliptical recess. Park 1 and Park 2 are planned as a pair, symbolizing “yin” and “yang.”
公園1のくぼみ（クレーター）もイベント広場として使うことができます。
The recess (crater) in Park 1 can also be used as an event space.

公園1と公園2はそれらを巡る、ウォーキング、ジョギングコースを形成します。
地域の人々の生活にいろどりを添え、安らぎと活力を与えるような、新しい環境をつくることができたらと思っています。
Parks 1 and 2 are connected by walking and jogging paths, adding vibrancy to the lives of local residents and providing a new environment that offers both tranquility and vitality.
春ごろから工事が始まり、監理を行って、2021年秋に竣工予定です。
Construction began around spring, and we have been supervising the project. It is expected to be completed in the autumn of 2021.
